Meet-and-Greets

Dog Adventures Northwest offers all potential new clients a Meet-and-Greet to discuss services. Dog Adventures Northwest also offers Meet-and-Greets to existing clients who are switching trainers. While this consultation is free for clients, Contractors are paid a flat fee of $25 for each Meet-and-Greet.

Meet-and-Greets allow prospective clients to:

  • Inquire more about services.
  • Meet their potential new trainer and watch the trainer's interactions with their dog.

If a client is ready to book services (or has already been served by a different trainer), Meet-and-Greets also allow them to:

  • Go over and settle on a schedule for their animal's services.
  • Discuss home entry via knocking, lock box, door code, key, etc.
  • Show their trainer the location of necessary supplies (leash, harness, collar, treats, water bowl, etc).
  • Talk about their animal's temperament to ensure the best possible care.
  • Enter their trainer's contact information into their cell phone.

Meet-and-Greets allow Dog Adventures Northwest Contractors to:

  • Meet their potential new client.
  • Assess the dog's readiness for Dog Adventures Northwest services.

If the Contractor feels that the dog is a good fit for them, Meet-and-Greets also allow Contractors to:

  • Discuss home entry via knocking, lock box, door code, key, etc.
  • Learn the location of necessary supplies (leash, harness, collar, treats, water bowl, spigot and hose, etc).
  • Develop a plan for the animal to ensure the best possible care.
  • Walk clients through how Dog Adventures Northwest manages invoicing and scheduling through the Time to Pet app.

There is no obligation for either the client or the Contractor to engage in services after the Meet-and-Greet.

Meet and Greet Expectations

Dog Adventures Northwest Contractors will receive notification of a new client via email or text. If the Contractor feels that their schedule and capacity aligns the needs of the client based on the information provided on the New Client form, Contractors agree to do the following:

  • Contact the client via the preferred method of communication listed on the New Client form to schedule a time for a Meet-and-Greet.

  • Schedule the Meet-and-Greet at the client's home, with the exception of services that take place in the Contractor's home; for these occasions, the Meet-and-Greet should take place in the Contractor's home.

  • Notify Dog Adventures Northwest of the date, time, and location of the Meet-and-Greet.

  • Arrive at the client's home within five minutes of the scheduled arrival time.

  • In the event of anticipated or actual lateness, alert both the client and Dog Adventures Northwest via text or phone call.

  • Start service through the Time to Pet app upon arrival.

  • Treat a client's home and property with care and respect. Behave in a professional manner at all times.

  • Do not allow any persons or dogs other than yourself onto a client's property or in a client's home unless specific arrangements have been made with both the client and the Dog Adventures Northwest Manager.

  • Carry high-value treats for classical conditioning.

  • Take notes, either within the client's Time to Pet profile itself, or on paper (to be transferred to the client's Time to Pet profile later).

  • Assess the dog's readiness for services.

  • Discuss schedule, home entry, and location of spigot, hose, and supplies if both the client and the Contractor want to engage in services with one another.

  • If given a key, label it with the dog's name and the Contractor's phone number.

  • Develop a plan for each animal to ensure the best possible care.

  • Walk clients through the Time to Pet system, and encourage them to download the app; inform clients that service cannot begin until they have signed into the system after receiving log-in information from Dog Adventures Northwest and signed the waiver.

  • Stop service through the Time to Pet app upon departure.

  • Fill out spell-checked and grammar-checked visit report card through the Time to Pet app with a follow-up on any relevant information discussed.

  • Update the client's Time to Pet profile with any relevant information learned during the Meet-and-Greet.

  • Notify the Dog Adventures Northwest Manager of services that need to be scheduled, including both approximate service start times and end times.

  • Notify the Dog Adventures Northwest Manager if a client key has been given.

  • Absolutely refrain from alcohol, drug use, and cigarette smoking while in the presence of clients and client animals; be completely sober from drugs and alcohol while in the presence of clients and client animals.
